It is said that Shingama Kiln, the pottery manufacturer, was founded in 1830 in Arita Sarayama under the instruction of the old Nabeshima lord as a kiln that is specialized in large-sized porcelain dishes. Shingama Kiln announced the launch of the new porcelain brand "Seika (青花)" in 1976. Seika means the dishes painted with navy and white and all are painted by hand.
