History and Folklore Museum of ARITA passed the Saga Prefecture's Museum Law No.1 in 1954.
This art museum was built in 1874 as a stone warehouse of pottery, and the building itself is a traditional structure. It . At the museum, you can interact with Arita potteries, mainly in the Meiji era, and also products of wealthy merchants of each pottery. Pieces that are registered as Important Cultural Properties of Saga such as "Komainu (shrine guardian dog statue)" or "Ceramics illustrating Arita Pottery Town" are worth a look.
