Kojin Shimomura known as a author of "Jiro's Story" was born in this house and he spent his 10 years of childhood here. This house is very important as an architecture from the early Meiji era as well as a place where the 1st part of Jiro's Story takes place.
Every year on October 3rd, the birthday festival of Kojin is held and this birthplace has been preserved as a place where children can gather and also as a important cultural asset to celebrate his achievement and be a base of spiritual culture.
