Genboku Ito is a doctor and a scholar of Dutch Studies, who was born in Kanzaki-machi Niiyama, Kanazaki city around end of the Edo period (1800). He was the one who adopted and built the basic of our modern western medicine by introducing vaccination and translating and releasing Dutch books. This former residence is said to be a place where Genboku had his clinic fro 4 years until he was 21 years old.
