Kunenan is consists of a cottage built in 1892 by the successful entrepreneur from Saga, Yataro Itami and a garden laid down also by Itami spending 9 years of construction from 1900. In 1995, Kunenan was designated as a National Site of Scenic Beauty. Every year, the garden becomes open to public for 9 days for beautiful autumn foliage (Nov. 15~23) and for 3 days for fresh verdure in spring (dates vary).
