Togenshosha was founded in 1699 as a school open to anyone regardless of class at the time and produced many notable figures. It was demolished when a new educational system was established in the Meiji Period but was rebuilt in 1991 largely retaining the original appearance with slight modern improvements. It is today used as a facility for training and other purposes.
