Koreyoshi Takatori donated this public hall to the municipality. The name “Kanoutei” derives from an old Chinese poem about Japanese bush warblers which keep tweeting in a small voice all during winter so they can sing beautifully in spring. The name reflects the wish that each of villagers of Taku studies here at this public hall and becomes recognized in a broader society as a person worthy of respect.
