The construction of the main office of the Karatsu Bank was completed in 1912. The building was designed by Dr. Kingo Tatsuno, who was originally from Karatsu area and is today known as a designer of Tokyo Station, the main office of Bank of Japan and many other famous buildings. He is a representative architect of the Meiji era.
