The full-size monument of 25 great figures related to Saga, who actively participated in various fields around the end of Edo period and Meiji Restoration were set up at 9 places on the central street of Saga City according to the "Hizen Saga Bakumatsu-Meiji Restoration Expo" which is held all around the prefecture from March 17, 2018 to January 14, 2019.
Enjoy walking around historical sites in towns of Saga while learning about the achievements of each figure who has accomplished great feats.

-Edayoshi Shinyo (1822-1862) *The figure standing on the left
Preached the thoughts of revering the Emperor and had a significant influence on the people of Saga.
-Shima Yoshitake (1822-1874) *The figure standing on the right
Contributed to Hokkaido Development. Drew up a blueprint of a massive Sapporo city to make it the biggest in the world.
-Sano Tsunetami (1822-1902) *The figure sitting in the center
Established Hakuaisha which aids both friends and enemies. Laid the foundation of Japanese Red Cross Society.
