Koreyoshi Takatori, "The Coal King” from Taku City, put an enormous amount of his own private fund and developed this park. It features Kanoutei, the public hall housed in a traditional style building which is a designate national tangible cultural property, a folk museum and other cultural facilities. In spring, you can enjoy the beauty of the scenic park decorated with about 400 trees of Someiyoshino cherry blossoms.
